I went for my first longer run today. It is a trail run into the peak district and the terrain is really varied.
There are some gradual inclines, hills and steep slopes. Mixed in with mud, ice, a bit of remaining snow on the tops and sunshine.
It was so much fun. Bits of it hurt alot, especially after training yesterday. My legs were quite heavy. But I kept moving. Running may not be quite the right description for what I was doing.
But I moved, just faster than a walk for over 8 miles. I still have 10 weeks to go to my half marathon and lots of training. So if I focus, get my nutrition right, don't get too stressed with life then all will be good on the day.
I love that my body can do the things I ask it to do. There is no better way to cure myself of feeling sorry for myself for no good reason than to move and see the world, the beautiful big natural world on my doorstep.
