Dad

I talked to my Dad this morning. He is always fighting the 'system.' I am not sure what system there is to fight but if he can find a way he does.

He has a mortgage and his mortgage company wanted to know how he was going to deal with the proceeds of an endowment plan maturing, should it be used to pay off part of the mortgage?

He could not get through to them to answer their query as he does not have a debit card. Or he did but he didn't use it so he chopped it up.

This means he could not get through the telephone security questions.

So he complained. They called him and he explained what had happened, they then asked if he had photo ID. He doesn't. He has a paper driving license and an out of date passport.

So they have now security blocked him.

He has ended up relying on a local contact that works for the bank and the life company to give him some information about his own finances but not via the official telephone numbers that they gave him.

I only hope this is one of Dads stories but it does sound like it could be close to the truth.
